Parents Code of Ethics and Conduct
I hereby pledge to live up to my responsibility as a parent of a child participating in the Loveland Youth Soccer Association and agree to abide by the following expectations.
- I will remember that I am a parent and the game is for the children and not the adults
- I will place the emotional and physical well-being of the children first.
- I will help my child understand the valuable life lessons sports can teach; hard-work, hustle, perseverance, not giving up, practicing hard, self-accountability and teamwork.
- I will be a role model of good sportsmanship and character.
- I will do my best to make sure that participation and games are fun for all the participants.
- I will lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all participants, coaches, parents’, officials, recreation staff, and the public. I will treat them all with respect.
- I will only make positive and encouraging comments to players, fans and coaches from both teams. I will not yell at players.
- I will not interfere or coach from the sideline
- I will treat all referees with respect, not talk to referees during games or make negative comments about referees before, during or after games.
- I will remember that wins and loss are best viewed in how children learn and experience life skills from them.
- I will maintain a positive sports environment for all participants that is free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol and inappropriate language.
